How do young people understand and practice consent online? This report reveals just how integral sharing and viewing online content is to young people’s lives, and how vital it is that we all understand the needs that young people have in navigating how to ask, give and receive permission online.
In a survey of nearly 40,000 children, we asked children and young people aged 7 to 16 about the risks they face when using the internet.
40,000 pupils took part in this year's LGfL DigiSafe pupil online-safety survey about their online lives. We found out what they love and what they hate, what really goes on behind closed screens, and who they trust when things go wrong. Are you a teacher of 8-16-year-olds? Ask your pupils to complete the appropriate survey. They could do it for homework or during break time. It only takes 10-15 minutes.
You can then access free teaching resources to use with your pupils AFTER they have completed the survey. This includes a resource that takes you through the correct answers to the test questions and a booklet with ideas of how to embed critical literacy within your classroom.
