The consultation will seek views on revisions to ‘Keeping children safe in education’, the statutory guidance that sets out what schools and colleges should do and the legal duties with which they must comply to keep children safe.'

On Wednesday 17 June 2020, the Department for Education (DfE) published updated ‘Keeping children safe in education’ (KCSIE) guidance ready for implementation from Tuesday 1 September 2020.

The Education People has produced a summary of key online safety requirements and changes within KCSIE 2020.

The 2019 Keeping children safe in education
Statutory final draft guidance for schools and colleges on safeguarding children and safer recruitment.

This guidance applies to all schools and is for:

headteachers, teachers and staff

governing bodies, proprietors and management committees

It sets out the legal duties you must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18 in schools and colleges.
