Rarely have I taken part in truly mind changing training, but today (we) were well and truly schooled by Simon Finch.. funny man with an important and sobering message about how to be safer online. He has left us with so many ideas and real motivation to get some resources designed for the very vulnerable young people and families we work with.

Instagram is teeming with these conspiracy theories, viral misinformation, and extremist memes, all daisy-chained together via a network of accounts with incredible algorithmic reach and millions of collective followers—many of whom, are very young. A purported social media challenge, labelled the ‘48 hour missing challenge’, has been reported on by some media, however the UK Safer Internet Centre is not currently aware of any evidence to directly link disappearances with an online challenge.
