Hundreds of families are suing some of the world's biggest technology companies - who, they say, knowingly expose children to harmful products.

"I literally was trapped by addiction at age 12. And I did not get my life back for all of my teenage years."

Taylor Little's addiction was social media, an addiction that led to suicide attempts and years of depression.

Young TikTok users in the UK have viewed videos that promote deadly and illegal bodybuilding drugs 89m times, a report has found.

The report, titled TikTok’s Toxic Trade, by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), looks into the promotion of bodybuilding drugs and a rise in toxic content aimed at young men.

A town in southern Spain is in shock after it emerged that AI-generated naked images of young local girls had been circulating on social media without their knowledge.

Police are now investigating and according to reports, at least 11 local boys have been identified as having involvement in either the creation of the images or their circulation via the WhatsApp and Telegram apps.

British photographer Rankin found 15 teenagers who don't regularly use photo editing apps and took simple, natural portraits of them. After a quick lesson on how to use basic editing apps on their phones, they were asked to filter their image so that it would get more likes. The results are an astonishing look at how our online images are becoming increasingly homogenized and the effects these beauty ideals are having on our youth. (2019)

'Toward the end of 2022, 8.8 million people watched a TikTok in which a young woman warned viewers: “Stop sleeping on your stomach/side or your face will droop.” One tweeted response to the video later earned more than 6,000 likes. It reads: “[It’s] terrifying that the anti-aging industry has wormed its way into younger and younger audiences. Teenage girls shouldn’t have to feel constantly terrified that everything they do is causing their face to look older.”'
